Components
Any Firefly page is made up of one or more components, or "chunks" of content of the same type and same permissions. Many pages consist of just one component which contains Formatted Text, but other component types might be for image display by slideshow or thumbnails or resource lists (Gallery), the full range of options being available from the Component selection area:
When you are in write access mode, each component will appear on screen with its own set of editing buttons sitting within a grey rectangular box:
The buttons for each particular component are visible when the cursor is placed within it. Hovering your cursor over any of the buttons will dim the entire page except the component itself, in order to highlight it.
The buttons are:
Modify Component: click this to open the contents of the component/display the component parameters in a new window in order to edit it.
Delete Component: self-explanatory
Drag to Move: left click this button and then drag it; the component can then be moved to a new position, either above or below other components.
Component properties: this brings up the Tools menu with the Component section activated.
Component Wrapping
Components can be set to occupy defined widths with the page rather than the whole page width, and can be dragged to wrap to the right or left of other components. This is done via the Tools > Component menu.
