Add content button

Firefly's Gallery feature provides a window onto the Resources area by allowing all resources stored in a folder, or folder tree, to be displayed. In the particular case of images, options to display them as either thumbnails or as a slideshow are available, whilst the list option displays folders which can be dynamically opened to show their contents.

Slideshows and thumbnails

Click the Gallery button at the bottom of a page (if the page already has content then you must click the Add content button first) to bring up the settings dialog as below:

Just choose the folder you wish to show a slideshow or thumbnails of, and you have an automatically updated thumbnail/slideshow gallery on your page!

The example above shows the selection of a thumbnails page showing the images in the "slide show" folder. Thumbnails may be displayed in any number of rows from 1 to 6 and any number of columns from 1 to 6. There are also options to display small (100x100), medium (150x150) or large (250x250) thumbnails. The sort order can be set to Default, Name or Random also.

The example below shows the selection of a slideshow page showing the images in the slide show folder.

Resource lists - Linking to multiple files

Links can be made to the contents of a whole folder in one operation by using the Resource list feature. The example below shows a Firefly component which displays all the file names of the files in the example documents folder, complete with links to the files.

The method is straightforward:

  • Click the Insert Content button at the bottom of a page and select the Gallery component option:
  • Select Resource List from the menu on the left
  • Use the  button to browse to the required folder
  • Choose Sort order to sort by Name, Date or File type, either Ascending or Descending
  • Press Insert

The displayed list is automatically updated if further files are added to or deleted from the selected folder in the Resources area. N.B. The separation of the list items may be altered in the template.

Clicking a folder icon will open the folder to display its contents.

Clicking a file name will open the file.
