Adding links to other Firefly pages

  1. Open the component containing the text or graphic you wish to insert the link in the Edit window.
  2. Select the relevant text (or graphic) and click on the Insert link icon .
  3. In the resulting Insert Link dialog box:

    • enter the title of the link (this box defaults to the text you have selected; alternatively, if you are creating a link from scratch, any text you type in will be transferred to the page. The option is greyed out if a graphic is selected).
    • Select Link to: -> Firefly.NET page from the Link to: options.
    • Click Browse... to open the Page Selector dialog box (see right above) and navigate to the required parent page title.
    • OR - enter the page ID in the Page: box (you can copy and paste) instead.
    • Press the OK button.

If you wish to link to an anchor in a different Firefly.NET page, then complete the options above and then type in the anchor name into the Anchor: box before clicking OK.

Adding links to external web pages

  • First obtain the URL (address) of the web page to which you wish to link, e.g. http://www.google.co.uk.
  • Bring up a Modify Component window from the page you're linking from
  • Position the insertion point where it is required and type the text "Google"
  • Select the word "Google" and click on the Insert link icon .

In the Insert Link dialog box:

Select External web/e-mail address link from the Link to: options and leave Link target at the default Type: equals Web address (see screenshot)

Enter the URL previously obtained in the Address: box (you can copy and paste if convenient).

Press the OK button.

Adding links to e-mail addresses

As above but, instead of making Link target/Type equal to Web address, select E-mail address from the pull-down menu.

Enter the required e-mail address in the Address: box and press OK
