Page Ownership

The owner of a page will be notified if changes are made that need approval.

Click the Modify button  to the right of the page name in the navigation menu to bring up the Modify Page dialog box.  Alternatively, you could select Modify page properties from the Tools > Edit this page menu.

Then select the Permissions tab:

Cliicking Take ownership gives you "ownership" of the page. You will be notified by e-mail if any changes are made to the page that require approval, or if any children are created that require approval.

N.B. By default the page author of any new page is also the owner.

The process can be reversed by returning to the Permissions tab of the Modify Page dialog box and clicking Give up ownership. Note that this dialog box now displays the name of the Owner.

Section Ownership

Sections may also be owned in a similar way via the Modify Section dialog box accessed by clicking the Modify button  to the right of the scetion name in the top menu row to bring up the Modify Section dialog box. [This is the same as the Add Section dialog box but has the added option to move the page.] Alternatively, you could select Modify page properties from the Tools > Manage site > Control Panel menu
